The whitewashed Vlacherna Monastery on the flight path of Corfu Airport, Greece.

The picturesque convent, built on a small islet in the 17th century, was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It fell into disuse in the 1980's but ceremonies are still held in the small church. There is a stone causeway, an anchorage for small fishing boats, that connects the islet to the southern tip of the Kanoni peninsula.
